BANNACK
I had a really great time at Bannack and definitely enjoyed the sunshine. Over all I took some good pictures and some bad as I’m sure most of you all did. It was fun to shoot all the old things and good practice for a beginner photographer. I will say that I felt really frustrated with the HDR program but I ended up getting it to work so I cant really complain.

editing my lights
I tried the colored vignette and the brushed border and they turned out pretty nice I think. Same info as the originals.

LIGHT!
I will admit that I really have a hard time with this thing called light when it comes to darkness and night. I feel so frustrated but I continue on. I liked these photos because the first one shows a familiar intersection and the second is Christmas lights. Who doesn’t like Christmas lights? And I was lucky to find them up still. I spent a freezing night walking around with a friend to get these shots and we had a really good time.

A Winter Walk
This photo I called: A Winter Walk
I decided to crop the top half out of the photo, not because they didn’t line up correctly, but because I liked the interesting shaped her lags made and I wanted to focus on her walking. I didn’t really love they way it turned out, with the top half or without. Better luck next time.

Panoramic photos
I love my roommate Hysen. I love her hair and her green cord pants. I love the juxtaposition made when I throw her urban look out in the cold rural snow.

one week of photos
I really had a good time taking these pictures. I wanted to shoot things that stood out to me that day as beautiful. I have a lot of close ups so I wish I would have done a landscape or two but overall I really do think all of these things are beautiful.

Meet You There

Laundry Day
Laura
I do not love perfectly posed pictures of pretty families and their dogs. I do believe that that sort of portrait has a place in tis world but it is not with me. I like fun, energetic pictures that capture a person’s personality. Thats what I tried to do with all of these portraits.

EDITS! 1/27
Afternoon Harvest
Before
After
I wanted to make the tomato picture seem like it was outside with more light. So I used an adjustment layer to lighten the photo then used black to erase the layer on the basket. For the other picture I used the smart filter called fresco, boosted the color a bit and then masked out the bit of plant right in the front.

Flora and Fauna
Mossy Knoll
Violets $4
In a Zebra’s Eye
This week I felt a little nervous about photographing plants and animals. It is, after all, the middle of winter in Rexburg. But I then remembered the wonders that the Benson building has to offer. I found all of these images there in the “stuffed” animal room and in the greenhouses. I liked the bright vivid colours and the closeness of the shots.

Edits
I decided to use one of my pictures I took While in Japan this summer for one edit. The other one I actually shot for another class but I thought it was fun.
